Frequently asked questions about sober living

Real Community Housing is dedicated to providing a safe, stable, and empowering environment. Our approach is rooted in understanding and support, ensuring every resident feels valued and has the resources to thrive. Below, you'll find answers to common questions about our sober living program.

Is this a treatment program?

Real Community Housing provides supportive sober housing, not clinical treatment. We collaborate with treatment providers and offer a stable environment conducive to recovery and personal growth.

Do you accept MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment)?

Yes, we are supportive of  Medication-Assisted Treatment with strict compliance; including prescription verification by a licensed medical professional as part of a recovery plan along with secure storage, monitoring, and zero tolerance for diversion or misuse.

What are the costs?

Costs vary depending on the housing option. Please contact us at realcommunityhousing@gmail.com for detailed pricing information. We also help connect residents with programs that may cover costs if they have no income.

How long can I stay?

We offer both short-term and long-term housing options. Our goal is to support residents as long as they need a stable environment, whether that's for extended periods or until they achieve independent living.

Are inspections or drug tests required?

To maintain a safe and sober environment, regular house inspections and random drug tests are conducted. This ensures accountability and supports the recovery of all residents.

Can I work or attend school?

Absolutely! We encourage residents to pursue employment, education, or vocational training as part of their journey towards self-sufficiency. We can help connect you with local resources if needed.

What happens if I relapse?

Our relapse policy focuses on support and accountability. We prioritize the well-being and recovery of our residents so you will be given written information on our relapse policy upon entering the program.

Is transportation provided?

Our homes are located near public transit options. REAL Community Housing may provide transportation to residents for work, appointments, or any program-related needs for a fee.  Transportation must be requested and approved in advance. Residents should not assume transportation is available without prior confirmation.

Can I have visitors?

Visitors are allowed during designated hours and must be an approved visitor. All visitors must adhere to house rules to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all residents. Details are available in our resident guidelines.

Are couples allowed?

Couples may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Approval is not guaranteed and requires separate applications, approval for both individuals, and occupancy in a private room. Any violation of program expectations by either individual may impact continued residency.
